What alternative slug control methods are available?

There are numerous slug control methods and many individuals have their favourites. Slug pellets are one of the most effective control methods, and the GROWRIGHT campaign encourages the responsible use of such control products, however cultural controls should be considered and implemented as a first line of defence.

The Royal Horticultural Society suggest using physical barriers, such as copper strips around pots to prevent damage, as well as encouraging predators of slugs into the garden.
