What is the aim of the GROWRIGHT campaign?

GROWRIGHT is a stewardship programme committed to ensuring metaldehyde slug pellets are used responsibly. The initiative offers advice to consumers on how to use slug pellets responsibly, as well as alerting them to alternative methods they can try BEFORE using pellets.

The GROWRIGHT campaign is encouraging the use of only the right amount of slug pellets in the right place at the right time. You may need less slug pellets than you thought, in the case of metaldehyde it is just 3 to 5 pellets across an area the equivalent size of an A4 piece of paper.  Only put pellets around the plants you need to protect and they should only be used when slugs and/or plant damage is seen.
